Hello/Goodbye poem

LI: To paint a picture with my words

Lockdown

Hello lockdown

Goodbye waking up to the pouring rain and knowing you have to walk to school.

Hello lockdown

Goodbye Big Mac’s at McDonalds.

Hello lockdown

Goodbye getting dressed in school uniform.

Hello lockdown

Goodbye basketball games against other schools at Tamaki college.

Hello lockdown

Goodbye waking up and having to get ready for school.

Hello lockdown

Goodbye having a conversation with friends in person.

Hello lockdown

Goodbye School lunches.

Hello lockdown

Goodbye hanging out with my friends on the basketball court.

Hello lockdown

Thank you for giving us more time to spend as a family.

This morning Miss Sheena joined our online Meet and taught us how to write a Hello/Goodbye poem. This poem shows the contrast between things lockdown made us leave behind and the things lockdown gives us the opportunity to do.

I enjoyed doing this because it lets me share my thoughts with others.

  1. Hi Carter
I really liked your hello/goodbye poem and definitely can relate to missing having a conversation in person with friends, I really miss that too. It's nice to think about some of the positives also like having the time to spend as a family.
Was goodbye to school lunches a pro or con for you?
    Great work
