Adding Maths decimals

 LI: To understand how to add decimals


For this DLO , Afa Liletina and I worked collabortivtley , shared our opinions , to understand the stagatey we are working on, For our groups we were understanding the stragtey we learnt for the past few days. 

I really enjoyed learning this activty as I learnt how to use decimals also knowing how to use it. We also worked collabortivtly to understand where we start from and how we can get the answer. We first watched videos to understand what we first needed to do , to try and get the correct answer to the right question. 

Olympic Venues

LI: To make inferences about the events in the text using the clues provided by the author.

The DLO showing above is about the amount of money that was spend to build and help with the olympics. My reading group wrote some no and yes ideas as example yes they should spent this money to make their families proud, also with no because people could use the money with vaccines. We also found a photo of then and now happening every four years.





Flow charts and Radio Chat.

To understand how flowcharts relate to coding blocks.

To understand how to get the microbit to talk to another microbit using radio signals.

The next activity today was coding the microbit to send a radio signal to another microbit. We had to make sure that both microbits were on the same group number so we didn't accidentally get a message from another group.

Matariki

 LI: To strengthen our connections to Matariki.


This DLO was desgined , to understand the Matariki Stars celebration that's going on this week , Our group created this DLO and compltedted it by working collabortivtely , understanding what,why,who and the matariki stars. We also started being creative and drawing our own stars. By creating this DLO we used our searching skills and looked through websites to find facts and information about the Matariki stars. Matariki takes place eahc year when the cluster of the stars knowen as Matariki. The new year is a time of new beginingins and is a time to embrace the trandtions.The new year is a time for new beginnings and is a time to embrace tradition . To strengthen our connections to Matariki we had a choice of research activities. I enjoyed this activty as I learnt that Matariki is cluster instead of a star. I found out that their are 7 Stars including the Matariki.

LI: To show others what you want to achieve this term. 


Today we made a DLO about what we want to achieve this year by using pictures and words.
I want to accomplish a lot of things this year but the one I want to do the most is to level up on my maths and to support my culture and my learning. My favourite part about this activitie is showing others what I want to do this year and which collage I want to go to next year.

Organizing and Researching

LI: To use our smart searching skills to expand our knowledge of Ancient Greek Mythology.



Today David shared the next reading challenge with us. It is all about the Greek gods and helps us to practise the skills we have been learning in our reading lessons with our teachers. 

David created this task as part of his CARE award challenges. In this smart searching activity, we used our comprehension and research skills to learn about Greek Mythology vocabulary and identify Greek places on the map.

I found this activity fun because because I got to learn about the people and places.

The word/place I found most interesting was Alexander the great because he did a lot of cool things in his time.

Coding in Phyton

  LI : To Learn how to code the Microbot in the Phyton.



For this example the buttons , the main thing to notice is "def" witch is defeing what the on_button_pressed will make to miscbitt do. Again this has a top and bottom so the content has to go insde it. 

The first one shows the Phyton coding for flashing heart. It flashes between a small heart icon and a large heart Icon. The Main thing to notice between the Phython coding and the blocks is the the forevea loop is the top and bottom of the content in both.
